The Hazy Lazy Days of August

Well the hunts are in full swing, the move has finally happened and it's almost mid-August. Time to start preparing for our events for next month.

We have the traffic now coming into the sim, and our goal now is to promote our events so that we can continue to bring others back and perhaps have this family start to grow.

Around the 20th of August, I will be working through our family group and starting to clean out those who are not active and who are no longer interested in being part of our growing family. I hold no ill will towards anyone, but we finally have things going good and it's time to have the family grow.

This month is a rather hectic month, with the Poppy Hunt well underway and the upcoming Freaky Fall that we have taken over for Mesha. But the home continues to grow with little drama, it's nice to see everyone getting along, shame it could not have always been like that.

Keep your eyes open and checking back for the event calendar for next month.

Traffic

Crimson Castle has finally got its 1st hunt underway on the 1st August! The amount of people visiting the sim has trebled with bargain hunters flooding in to find the 1st poppy bag in the poppy hunt at Bleeding Rose designs. Every time i visit its packed full fo people wandering about the sim.

And beside the hunt Lyria has with much time spent setting it up got the Lucky Fish in at the 7seas lake, and this has brought a steady stream of people in too.

Besides that we have a few shops which are slowly being rented out and they too are bringing in people to the sim. Got to the point where we've re jigged the market square to make it more appealing to visitors and vendors hoping a few will come in and rent some space.

The main source of the traffic im sure will be the chicken market with the recent sim wide egg hunt. That brought in aload of farmers searching for free chickens and eggs. Hopefully some saw our chicken market and will open a stall there or at least return to buy from its vendors.

We have a lady called Tivs who is running the chicken market with some big ideas and keen as mustard to make it a success, so im sure it will be heaving soon with people. Already many of the stalls have been rented and a steady influx - all be it lower than we hoped of people looking to buy.

The final part is the spell fire fighting arena so far this is still being set up and im looking forward to taking part in the battles. Legion Mistwalker is the man behind this baby and it is slowly growing too.

All in all making a sim is alot of fun but the hard work is getting people in to see what you've done there. Makes me wonder how many great sims there must be in SL which are hidden away and like us the owners are trying everything to draw the crowds in.

Building Crimson Castle

For such a big project this hthasnt had many posts so hopefully can change that even if we have alot going on directly or indirectly at the crimson castle.

I guess the main reason for the sim is to give a home to the vampire clan so we can all have our private place to enjoy our SL with each member of the crimson vampire family having their own skybox or platform. Down below has been a busy time building and landscaping the sim and this being the 3rd sim we hopefully now have a good idea what works and what doesn't.

My personel favourite is the fishing area. Lyria got me hooked on it when we 1st met and so far only beaten her once in about 10 comps at it. But i digress.... this fish pool we've tried to build it up in to a rocky treelined gorge and give a relaxed peaceful area to bait your hook and mull over things as you fish. It may not be capabilty brown's work but i like the look and the bird sounds and underwater world we've added to this area. with 7seas & lucky tribe fishing there too it makes for a great place to visit and the traffic is rising all the time in this part of crimson castle.

The centre of the sim is our market with room for around a dozen large shops, the square is massive and needs a few more things to fill the space althought we have a few toys dotted around. OuR regular conversation is on this market and i'd like to add more shops but its a matter of grinding down lyria on this one i feel. But so far we have a few great vendors and our bleeding rose design shop is here.

Besides the square we have a chicken farm for vendors theres a great toy bull here in the corner but the rest is dedicated to stalls selling sion chickens and the eggs as part of the marketting for this there is a sim wide chicken hunt and so far something like L$30,000 has been given away and it goes on till this Saturday.

When on the sim the church and castle catch my eye and always remind me these need filling up, yesterday Lyria and me visited a sim selling gothic items and its given me plenty of ideas for these 2 buildings. 1st off is the organ, move over phatom of the opera! But these need to be more vampyrish for the clan and with all the hunts taking place and chickens the vampire castle and church have taken a back seat. hopefully these will be done soon as i know we can give any vampire clan a run for their money when it comes to making an intersting sim to visit.

About Crimson Castle

This blog has been a long time coming and finally now, we are able to bring this blog to life.

Crimson Castle is finally up and running effectively. We offer many activities and many different areas for all tastes. We are mostly a Mature Sim, but do offer the market area and forest for those who wish to just get away and enjoy some quality shopping or relaxing.

We offer our Club in the main castle. Events will begin on a daily basis begining July 1st. We have the BDSM dungeon for getting your kink on, catering to all different tastes to the darker side of life. Outside of the castle we offer a very nice large sparring area. Here was welcome Spellfire and those who use DCS2/Spellfire compatible weapons.

Starting July 1st, we will begin a bracket fight. That means a pool of fighters will be compiled. Each one will be paired up and the last one standing at the end of the month will win the pot. Currently the pot stands at 1,000L.

From the sparring area, we offer our small cemetary, here you can find a few spots to enjoy that darker embracement. Never know what you might find over the tombstones.

We have our Unholy Church as well. In the basement is our blood wealth for the family. We offer a Bloodlines Vendor as well, and always looking for quality family members.

Our market area offers a variety of vendors. We ran out of area in our market so we placed a teleport in to give room for a few more shops.

We have a barnyard area for that zoo fetish that some might enjoy. We are open minded and do not shy away from the more exotic tastes of those in Second Life.

Crimson Castle houses a family of vampires. The heads of the family are Lyria Wizenheim, and her husband and mate Yossarian Zarco. In addition, Legion Mistwalker, eldest minioin of Lyria, is a family head. The three of them rule over the family of over 30 vampires.

If your intersted in Crimson Castle, please speak to one of those three in game. There will be more updates to this blog as we grow closer to July 1st.

See you at the Castle.
